Does Gel Ruin Your Nails?

“Does the gel damage the nails?”

This is one of the most frequently asked questions that customers in the store still ask us today. The answer is NO, the gel does not damage the nails!

What probably ruined your nails was the way the gel was applied or more likely still, the way it was removed. Certainly, professional nail tools and superb techniques are essential. Often it is even advisable to cover very thin and fragile nails with gel… to increase their resistance or to prevent them from breaking.

Does the gel damage the nails? what do you have to watch out for?

As mentioned above, there are mainly two factors to pay attention to:
1) choose a good nail technician who knows how to properly prepare your nails. Absolutely avoid the improvised ones!
2) the removal of the products, even here it goes without saying, that if you have chosen a professional you can rely on, he will be able to remove your reconstruction without any damage.

In fact, the only delicate phase during reconstruction is the nail preparation phase. Builder gels need a rough surface to adhere to, which is why they file their nails before applying the gel. This is the only moment in which your nails could be damaged, if the filing is too aggressive, or if the file is too coarse.

Here, too, everything depends on the skill of the chosen nail technician! So it’s not the gel that ruins your nails. Hoping to have been helpful, I hug you and look forward to seeing you in the next article!
